VIDEO: Bank Workers Escape Through Fence As Angry Youths Vandalize First Bank Over Naira Scarcity.
A video sighted by Toktok9ja exclusive shows the moment bank workers were spotted making a run for their lives as the shortage of new Naira notes bites harder on Nigerians, especially the youths. It is no longer news that there is a scarcity of the newly re-designed naira notes which is causing more hardship for Nigerians as the Central Bank of Nigeria maintains it stands on not going back on its cashless policy.
The employees of the yet-to-be-identified bank are seen in the footage seen scaling through the office fence in the back of the building to escape an angry mob trying to get into the premises.
According to our findings, the said bank is located in Delta state, Nigeria.
The bank workers both male and female struggled while climbing the ladder one at a time in order to scale the fence and escape.
One of the bank workers who was suspected to be the manager could be heard making inquiries over the position of the security men they contacted to disperse the angry mob
Over the week, allegations have been made that Nigerian some banks are responsible for the shortage of the newly redesigned naira notes, which has resulted in economic hardship for the general populace, even though these allegations were denied by the said banks.

A statement that was made available to newsmen by some stakeholders in the banking sector claims that banks should not be the issue because banks had already contributed approximately N100 billion to the system.
One of the stakeholders Mr. Bolarinwa explained that the Nigerian banking system has established and maintained cutting-edge electronic channels in an effort to provide customers with real-time digital financial transactions.
He made the observation that 80 percent of Nigerians are now able to make use of digital services. These services include internet banking, mobile apps, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Point of Sales (PoS), merchants’ mobile wallets, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes, agents, and digital franchises.
Meanwhile, in the same vain, angry youths in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital have taken to the streets to protest the scarcity of fuel and Naira notes.
The angry youth vandalized First Bank Plc located in the capital while burning tires on the road as they expressed their displeasure over the hardship caused by the scarcity.
