Video of Woman Being Whipped by Men in a Boutique Has Caused an Outcry on Social Media
A video of a woman being whipped by men has caused an outcry on social media, with many seeking justice for her.
The video captures the yet-to-be-identified woman on the floor as the men take turns whipping her with a cane while she screams for help. She could also be seen rolling on the floor. At one point, she sat up while rubbing her hurting back, but the men continued flogging her.
The video, which first appeared on X (formerly Twitter), caused an uproar on social media, especially because the reason for giving her such treatment was not disclosed.
Some social media users believe she was being whipped for allegedly stealing from the shop, but this has not been confirmed yet.

Many social media users who saw the video believe that the men should have handed her over to the police instead of subjecting her to such pain and public disgrace. They believe this was jungle justice, which Nigerian law frowns upon.
A social media user, Ekwugum Sunny, who shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), wrote:
“This injustice is a gross violation of her dignity and human rights. The incident occurred at Don Maserati Classic Boutique, located at Ultimate Plaza, Broad Street, opposite Tantalizers, Lagos Island. The owner of the boutique, Chidiebere Onu…”

Jungle justice is common in Africa, especially in Nigeria. In some cases, the victims are innocent, so the Government of Nigeria has warned against it. This is another case of jungle justice, and we hope the government takes the necessary action.
