Celine Dion’s Sister Shares Update on Singer’s Health – Says Her Sister No Longer Have Control Over Her Muscles.
Celine Dion, the famous singer from Canada, is dealing with a serious sickness called stiff person syndrome. This sickness makes it hard for her to control her muscles, and her older sister Claudette says it’s tough for Celine.
Last year, Celine had to cancel her big world tour because of this sickness. Stiff person syndrome is not common, and it gets worse over time. It makes the body attack its own nerves, making it really hard for Celine to move around.
Claudette, who is 75 years old, shared that Celine is trying her best but doesn’t have control over her muscles. This is heartbreaking for Claudette because Celine has always been a hard worker and disciplined.
Celine’s dream and also her sister’s is to go back to singing on stage. But they are not sure how that will happen with Celine’s condition. It’s not just her muscles; it’s also affecting her vocal cords and heart, which are important for her singing.
Stiff person syndrome is super rare, only affecting one in a million people. Because it’s so uncommon, not much research has been done on it. Claudette explained, “The scientists haven’t done that much research because it didn’t affect that many people.”
Celine’s family charity Fondation ‘Maman Dion’, has been getting lots of messages and support from people who love her. Claudette mentioned, “Some people have lost hope because it’s an illness that isn’t well known.”
Even though they’ve been working with top researchers, Celine hasn’t seen much improvement. Claudette shared, “We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important.”
