Christian Woman Allegedly Beaten in Kogi for Not Covering Hair During Ramadan.

A young Christian woman has come forward with claims that she was attacked in Kogi State by a group of young Muslim extremist for not cover her hair during ramadan.

The incident reportedly happened in Anyigba, a busy town in Dekina Local Government Area. According to a post circulating on Facebook, the men beat her and told her she needed to cover her head because of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began in mid-February and runs until mid-March this year.

The Facebook user who shared the story wrote: “The girl in this picture claim some boys beat her up in Anyigba. She said they beat her because she did not cover her head and they said it was against their muslim practice. Pls I need more facts about this case.”

The post has since raised questions online, with many people pointing out that Nigeria is a multi-religious country where the constitution guarantees freedom of worship. Christians are not required to follow Islamic practices such as covering their hair during Ramadan.
