The Nigeria Customs Service is grappling with tragedy following the sudden death of one of its officers, Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) Lawal Tukur. A third woman, Hafsat Yusuf, 22, from Brigade Quarters in Kano, reportedly joined them later and also lodged at the same hotel.

Following the discovery, the officer’s body was transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Katsina. A medical doctor on duty officially confirmed his death. The body has been placed in the mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
