Reports emanating from Sabongari Area of Kano State suggests that there’s Serious riot happening in the City, a development suspected to be the result of growing beef between Business owners of Northern and Southern parts of the country, according to a Facebook post (Video) made by Muhammad B Muhammad, Shops are being destroyed and people are being maimed in broad daylight.

This is happening despite several moves From some Governors in the country to curtail the danger posed by the food blockade happening in the country, few minutes ago, Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Kogi State Governor was said to be holding a meeting with some stakeholders across the country, a development that was disclosed by Muhammad Onogwu Galaticus, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi State Governor.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR (born 25 December 1949) is a Nigerian politician who is currently serving as the Governor of Kano State. He took over office in 2015. He previously served as Rabiu Kwankwaso’ s deputy governor twice, between 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015. In 2019, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje signed into law the creation of four new emirates. This unprecedented move saw the reduction of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II’ s traditional domain as emir.

According to the law, the Kano emir will only preside over 10 local government areas out of the 44 in the state. In March 2020, the state legislature launched a new investigation on Sanusi for violation of traditional practices, this coming after a high court ruling restraining the corruption investigation against Sanusi. On March 9, 2020, Ganduje deposed and exiled Emir Sanusi, on the basis of alleged ” insubordination and disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the Governor” .
