Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, has refuted rumors surrounding an alleged N4 billion fraud investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Following his visit to the EFCC’s Ilorin office on Thursday, where he voluntarily presented himself for questioning, Fayemi’s spokesperson, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, issued a statement on Friday to address the circulating speculation.

Sajoh clarified that Fayemi, who also served as the former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), had engaged in fruitful discussions with EFCC investigators during his visit. Contrary to the rumors, he emphasized that Fayemi was not under probe but had visited the EFCC office alongside his legal counsel to address any inquiries that may have arisen.
