Girne American University Students Participate in HULT prize 2020 OnCampus Program.

The HULT PRIZE in partnership with the United Nations is a Global learning and entrepreneurship platform among University students around the world that gives them the opportunity to deliver social change.

The Hult Prize 2020 challenges teams globally to “build bold businesses that have a positive net impact on the environment with every sale completed, dollar earned, and decision made and reach no fewer than a million consumers within a decade”.

Girne American University (GAU) which is the only University in North Cyprus participating in the Hult Prize held her OnCampus event on Friday 13th of December 2019 under the Leadership of Ms. Light Jachike the Campus Director and her Organizing Team Members.

The team members includes:

Arinze Onyekesi: Fundraising/Partnership Coordinator

Zainab Fazal Mohammed:Fundraising/Partnership Coordinator

Sand Abougegha: Fundraising/Partnership Coordinator

Tatenda Gutu: Marketing Coordinator

Doğukan Ugur Balkan: Marketing Coordinator

Brice Yaleu: Creative Media Coordinator

David Okao: Creative Media Coordinator

Pauline Munene: Trainings Coordinator

Faith Famous: Judges Coordinator

Jumoke M. Olaleye: Judges Coordinator

Charlene E. Dushime: Teams Coordinator.

At the final rounds on Friday, six out of twenty three teams pitched their innovative ideas for six minutes each.

After much deliberations, our rock star judges announced “Team To-Believe” as the Winner of the 2019/2020 GAU Hult Prize OnCampus Program with a free ticket to Regionals in Ankara and a chance to win the one million dollars prize in New York.

Members of the team are Mink Kenneth Ngeh, Singo Loua, Martina Omale Ben and Mua Elvis.
