Headies Awards Organizers Disqualifies Portable Over Comments About Notorious Cult Group ” One Million Boys”.
The organisers of 2022 Headies Awards have disqualified fast-rising singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable over his recent controversies.
Recall that last month, the controversial singer made a threat in a viral video that he would kill or cause harm to the other nominees in the same categories of awards he was nominated for – ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ – if he doesn’t emerge the winner.

The excited artist took to his Instagram to write:
“I know I worked for this and I know it for me base on believe @the_headies Don Show love Akoi Grace King 👑 ZAzuu Best rookie and best street pop of the year ZAzuu ZEH ⭐️Street Ti Take Over @olamide @poco_lee Kala Wuwa Ika ZEH Nation”
Meanwhile, after the video went viral, the organisers threatened to disqualify him if he doesn’t tender an apology and take down the video.
He, however, took down the video and issued an apology.
Portable trended for the wrong reasons again last week after he put up a video boasting about forming Ajah Boys and One million boys, a notorious cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State.
In no time the video went and forced the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba to order an investigation into the claims.
However Portable quickly retracted his statement claiming that the One Million Boys he referred to in the viral video are his fans and not any cult group.
While the Police investigation is still ongoing, the organizers of 2022 Jessie’s Awards have now disqualified him as a nominee for the forthcoming 15th Jessie’s Awards.
According to the award organizers; “The music industry demands all-rouhd excellence, and it is extremely important for young artist being potential role models to exude professional responsibility, proper decorum and have respect for others”
