“I Found Peace in Jesus”: Son of Islamic Scholar Explains Why He Converted to Christianity.
Aliyu Nasara Umar, a Nigerian man born into a devout Muslim family, has publicly shared the personal reasons behind his decision to leave his former faith and embrace Christianity.
His story has drawn attention because of his background; Umar revealed that he was raised in a strict religious home where his father serves as a respected scholar and teacher of Islamic scriptures. Despite this upbringing, he said his personal search for truth led him down a different path.
In a statement detailing his journey, Umar explained that he spent years studying and seeking answers. He noted that despite his family’s deep roots in Islam, he felt a gap in his spiritual life regarding the certainty of salvation.

“I was born and raised in a deeply Islamic family. My father is a respected Muslim scholar, a teacher of Islamic scriptures and prophetic traditions,” Umar said.
He continued, “But through years of searching for truth, deep study, and divine encounters, I discovered that the path of salvation is only in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.”
According to Umar, the turning point came when he realized that his former religion could not offer him the specific peace and assurance of eternal life he craved. He described finding these things only after accepting the “light of the Gospel.”

Umar did not mince words regarding his new stance. He declared that he now views Jesus not just as a prophet, but as the “Savior of the world” and the only route to forgiveness.
“Today, I boldly declare that Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the world, the true Way that leads to God, and the only One who gives forgiveness of sins and eternal life,” he stated.
Addressing potential critics or those who might oppose his decision, Umar emphasized that he is not afraid. He expressed a strong commitment to sharing his new faith with others.

“Therefore, the Gospel must be preached. I will never run away or retreat,” he vowed. “I will continue to expose every teaching that turns people away from salvation and prevents them from knowing Jesus Christ.”

He concluded with a warning to current Christians, urging them to value their faith. “Anyone who abandons Christianity to follow any other path should understand that they are walking away from the only salvation God has provided through Christ,” he added.
