Shock in Katsina as Newlywed Man Killed by Wife Three Days After Wedding.

Residents of the Tashar Aibo community in Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State, have been thrown into mourning following the death of a young man, allegedly at the hands of his new wife.

The victim, identified as Abubakar Dan Gaske Mai Nasara, was a well-known maize seller in the area. He was reportedly stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Muhammad, on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The incident is particularly painful for the community as the couple had celebrated their wedding just three days earlier, on Thursday, November 20.

Attacked While Sleeping According to neighbors and sources within the community, the tragedy happened in the afternoon while Abubakar was resting at his home.

Witnesses state that Aisha allegedly attacked her husband with a knife while he was asleep, inflicting a fatal wound to his neck. The reason for the alleged attack is currently unknown, leaving family members and neighbors confused and searching for answers.

A Community in Mourning Abubakar was described by those who knew him as a humble and hardworking man who was widely respected in the market.

On Sunday, a crowd gathered near his shop, with many struggling to come to terms with the news.

“He was a peaceful man, dedicated to his family and trade. This is unimaginable,” said a neighbor who asked not to be named.

Police Investigation While the Katsina State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement regarding the case, local reports indicate that investigations have already started to uncover the circumstances leading to the death.

Meanwhile, the community remains in a sombre mood, with many offering prayers for the soul of the deceased.
