I Sacrificed About 20,000 Children And Ate Their Hearts During The War, Ex-Liberian Commander Joshua Blahyi Shockingly Confesses.
Most of the time, when a country is plagued by war, lots of lives are lost. But guess who suffers the most during the massacre? Well, obviously, it’s the children left behind that bear the torment of war.
Most of the male children may be forced to take part in the war but the rest may also be killed for spiritual purposes especially in Africa. Following this, a former Liberian rebel commander notorious for sacrificing children and eating their hearts has vowed to find redemption by helping ex-child soldiers off drugs. The horrible killer, Joshua Blahyi was tagged the “most evil man in the world” after he confessed to committing monstrous crimes against thousands of innocent people.
He was one of the most violent and feared rebels to rise from Liberia’s civil wars. He was nicknamed “General B*tt Naked” due to fighting battles naked – something he believed bestowed him with a “spiritual power” that made him unbeatable in war.
The Liberia civil wars, which was fought from 1989 to 1998 and 1999 to 2003, were filled with despicable acts of torture, rap£ and mass slaughter.
It is estimated that over a quarter of a million people died during the conflicts. Shockingly, some of the worst crimes were committed by child soldiers who were hooked on drugs by their bosses. These children were sadly left with intense drug addiction after the fighting came to an end, and many turned to a life of crime and broke away from society.
Blahyi confessed that he destroyed thousands of lives and claims he now wants to make amends. “We made them take up arms and consume drugs,” the 49-year-old Joshua told Agence France-Presse (AFP). “Now I want to repair that mistake.” He added: “For me, these kids are victims and not perpetrators. “I usually explain to them my own story, and then I ask them to follow suit by giving their lives to Christ and leaving the drugs.” In 2012, Joshua revealed he built a 15-mile compound to run training sessions with ex-child soldiers in an effort to reintegrate them into society. He also recounted the gruesome murders he committed to keep his ‘special spiritual power’ in January 2008, when he testified to Liberia’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
