‘I Won’t Take Blood Money’—Immigration Officer Who Captured Enugu Serial Killer, Ezeani.
“Take the money and iPhone, just let me go!” These were the desperate pleas of Ezeani, the notorious Enugu ritualist known as “Ichie Billion”, as he attempted to bribe his way to freedom after being recognized by an eagle-eyed immigration officer at the Seme Border.
Recently, Immigration Officer Prince Orji Ugochukwu (popularly known as Okeosisi Ugo on Facebook) was stationed at the Gbaji checkpoint along Seme Road when he spotted a suspicious-looking man on a motorcycle.

“I saw a young man wearing a face cap, and his face immediately struck me,” Ugochukwu recounted. “I had seen his viral photos—the ritualist from Enugu who buried people alive.”

When the suspect refused to stop, Ugochukwu swiftly pursued him on another bike, intercepting him at the next immigration checkpoint.
Cornered, Ezeani tried to deny his identity, claiming the man in the viral photos was his “brother.” But when Ugochukwu remained firm, the desperate ritualist switched tactics—offering a staggering N10 million bribe, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and a Tecno Camon 19 in exchange for his freedom.
“He said the iPhone alone was worth a million naira,” Ugochukwu said. “But I told him, ‘This is blood money. I won’t take it.’”

Undeterred, Ezeani spun another tale—claiming he was framed because he was next in line to become his community’s traditional ruler (Igwe). But Ugochukwu wasn’t buying it.

After snapping photos of Ezeani (which later went viral), Ugochukwu handcuffed him and handed him over to the Seme Border Patrol Command. Shockingly, even some of his colleagues initially doubted the arrest—until confirmation came through.
Ugochukwu’s refusal to be swayed by money or gadgets has drawn widespread praise. His actions ensured that a man accused of burying victims alive, including a pregnant woman, would finally face justice.
“I could never take blood money,” he stated firmly. “My duty is to protect lives, not aid killers.”
Ezeani is now in custody, but questions remain:
- How many more victims are buried in his compound?
- Who else in his network is still at large?
- Will his high-profile connections protect him?
One thing is certain: If not for Officer Ugochukwu’s integrity, a serial killer might have escaped Nigeria.
