Israeli Military Retaliates with Airstrikes Following Recent Rocket Attacks from Lebanon.
Israeli fighter jets launched a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon, targeting buildings used by Hezbollah in Maroun al-Ras, according to Al Jazeera.
The Israeli military reported that additional infrastructure in the towns of Aita al-Shab and Hula was also struck. These airstrikes were in retaliation to a series of rocket attacks from Lebanon that rattled northern Israel.

Earlier in the day, nine rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee, prompting the Israeli army to respond. Although these rockets did not cause any injuries, they represented a significant escalation in cross-border hostilities. In separate incidents, ten rockets were fired at the Kiryat Shmona area, and another five targeted the Upper Galilee, further escalating the tension.

The recent hostilities began with a salvo of rockets fired from Lebanon into Israel, triggering air raid sirens and causing northern Israeli residents to seek cover. The Israeli military responded by deploying its Iron Dome missile defense system, which intercepted several of the rockets.

Israel’s airstrikes on Hezbollah targets are part of a broader strategy to dismantle the group’s military infrastructure, which Israel claims poses a constant threat along its northern border.
