Just In: IDF Uncovers Extensive Hezbollah Weapons and Infrastructure in Lebanon Raids.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have ramped up military operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, focusing on neutralizing the group’s military capabilities that pose a threat to Israeli communities. According to an IDF spokesperson, recent raids have uncovered and dismantled a vast network of underground infrastructure, thousands of military targets, and large caches of weapons, including explosives.

As reported by CNN, the IDF has conducted dozens of precision operations along the border, aimed at weakening Hezbollah’s military strongholds. This surge in activity follows a limited ground offensive launched by Israeli forces into Lebanon. According to the IDF, these operations are the result of over 15 years of strategic planning, underscoring their long-term objective to counter Hezbollah.
A key element of Hezbollah’s strategy, led by Hassan Nasrallah, involves the deployment of Radwan units—elite forces comprising 4,000 to 6,000 personnel disguised as civilians. These units are stationed along the 135-kilometer border, from the Mediterranean coast to the Golan Heights, with the intent to attack Israeli communities and capture soldiers. These fighters are organized into battalions, each tasked with defending specific areas of the border.

The IDF’s recent raids have targeted Hezbollah’s Radwan forces, using detailed intelligence to strike key military positions. These operations have led to the discovery of underground tunnels, weapons depots, and areas used for planning terrorist activities. The IDF has reported significant successes, including the destruction of hundreds of Hezbollah operatives’ living quarters, command centers, and advanced weapon systems, many of which are believed to have been supplied by Iran.
The IDF reports that they have eliminated substantial quantities of explosives and hit thousands of Hezbollah targets, including weapons storage sites. Some of the weapons captured in these raids have been transported back to Israel for further examination.
While most of the Radwan units are believed to have retreated north of the Litani River, a few hundred fighters are still active in southern Lebanon. The IDF estimates that around 1,000 additional Hezbollah personnel are stationed further north near the Litani River and along the coast.
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari noted that many villages in southern Lebanon are being used to hide terrorist infrastructure, emphasizing that the military campaign is ongoing. Although he did not provide a timeline for the operation, he stressed that the IDF remains committed to safeguarding Israeli citizens as tensions in the region continue to rise.
