More Tension!!! As Gunmen Kidnap University Of Jos Professor And Her Husband In Jos.

A professor with the Department of Medical Microbiology in the University of Jos identified as Grace Ayanbimpe, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Toktok9ja Exclusive gathered that the professor was kidnapped in the early hours of Monday 17 May 2021 alongside her husband by masked gunmen who invaded their residence behind Haske Quarters, Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.

A resident of the community identified as Philip Dachung narrated the incident to our correspondent in Jos on Monday.

Dachung narrated that, ” The gunmen stormed the house of the professor around 2am. They invaded their apartment and fired several shots into the air. On hearing the gunshots, the neighbors were terrified and could not come out for the fear of being hit by stray bullets.

” So, this morning, we realised that the gunmen had abducted the professor and her husband and we don’t where they have been taken to right now. “

A Staff of the University of Jos also confirmed the incident and said, ” This morning, we received the news that Prof Grace Ayanbimpe of Department of Medical Microbiology was abducted from their apartment alongside her husband.

” Please, let’ s pray for their safe and speedy release from their captors and may we also see the end of insecurity in our country. “

When contacted, Dr Mark Okolo, the Head of Department of Medical Microbiology of the University of Jos declined to comment on the incident when contacted by our correspondent.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Plateau Police Command, Ubah Ogaba, when contacted by our correspondent, promised to get back to our correspondent as soon as possible.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of the command again proved abortive as he did not take his calls or respond to text messages as at the time of fill filling this report.
