Nigerian Billionaire Pledges Over $1 Million to Super Eagles for AFCON Victory.
Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu has given the Super Eagles a powerful reason to bring home the AFCON 2025 trophy: a promise of more than one million dollars in cash rewards.
The Chairman of the BUA Group announced a detailed list of financial pledges to the national team on Tuesday. The offer comes as the Super Eagles, who are yet to lose a match in the tournament held in Morocco, prepare for a critical semi-final game.

Rabiu’s proposal is straightforward but substantial. He has promised the team a total of $1 million (approximately ₦1.4 billion) if they are crowned African champions.
However, the rewards don’t only come with the final trophy. The businessman is also putting money on the line for the team’s performance along the way.

Should the Eagles defeat their next opponents, Morocco, in the semi-final this Wednesday, they will receive an additional $500,000 (about ₦740 million). On top of that, the team will get $50,000 (roughly ₦73.9 million) for every goal they score against the host nation.

If Nigeria makes it to the final, the motivation gets even bigger. Rabiu has pledged $100,000 (around ₦147 million) for every goal the Super Eagles score in the championship match.
This generous offer from one of Nigeria’s leading industrialists has sparked excitement among football fans. It is seen as a major boost for the team’s morale as they enter the most challenging part of the competition.

The Super Eagles secured their place in the semi-finals after a confident win against Algeria, maintaining a perfect record so far. With Rabiu’s promises now on the table, all eyes will be on the team to see if they can turn this financial incentive into a winning performance on the pitch.
The semi-final match between Nigeria and Morocco is scheduled for Wednesday.
