“Not When I’m Alive”: The Money Dispute That Caused 2Baba and Natasha’s Marriage Troubles (Video).
Exclusive details have come to light about the events that led to the very public separation of music icon 2Baba and his new wife, Natasha Irobosa Osawaru. In a recent online broadcast, a member of the singer’s management team, Daddy Freeze, shared a firsthand account of two specific incidents that he says marked the beginning of the couple’s relationship troubles.
The trouble, according to the management, started not behind closed doors, but in the full view of the public at the Lagos airport. During a trip, 2Baba was surrounded by excited fans and well-wishers who ushered him through the terminal, cheering and calling his name. In the commotion, his wife, Natasha, was reportedly left behind by the crowd. When 2Baba noticed and went back to get her, she was said to have been extremely upset, raising her voice at him. At the time, those around them dismissed the outburst as mood swings related to her pregnancy.

However, the real fracture happened later during the same trip, after they arrived in the United Kingdom. According to the account, a show promoter offered 2Baba an advance payment of £3,000 in cash. The singer reportedly made a request: he asked that £1,000 be sent immediately to his son, Nino, in Abuja for school expenses, and that he would take the remaining balance.
This is when, sources say, Natasha forcefully intervened. In front of the promoter, management, and strangers, she openly objected. “Not when I’m alive!” she is quoted as saying. “Give me the entire £3,000!” Stunned and visibly angered by the public nature of the demand, 2Baba reluctantly told the promoter, “Give her the money.” That moment, described as deeply humiliating for the artist, is said to have caused a rift that never healed.
The management also revealed that accommodations became another point of serious conflict. Despite the costs, Natasha insisted that they only stay at a hotel in Central London, a demand that added strain to the already tense situation.
2Baba and Natasha have yet to respond personally to these latest claims.
