One of the Terrorist Commanders Feel in Love with Me and Proposed To Me: Kaduna Train Attack Victim – Azurfa Lois.
On Wednesday, 5th October, the 23 remaining captives of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack were released almost six months after they were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists.
Following the release of all the abducted victims, it was reported that over N6 billion may have been paid to the terrorists to set most of their captives free.
The terrorists attacked an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train on March 28, 2022, in which about 14 persons were killed and 63 officially declared abducted.

“Please Help Free My Sister”
This was the cry of the elder brother of one of the kidnapped Kaduna train passengers, Azurfa Lois John.
He cried out to the Federal Government to help secure her release.
The 300-level student of the Kaduna State University and her cousin, Peace Aboi, 28, were kidnapped on that fateful day.
Lois’ brother, Moses, said that he heard that the abductors plan to marry their sister and his family is afraid for her future at the hands of the abductors.

Moses said they are a family of four with two other siblings and they had since lost their parents.
He said they had tried to raise the ransom to secure her release but they are financially incapable.
He, however, called on the Federal Government to come to the aid of their family by securing their sister’s release as soon as possible, so that her case does not become like that of Leah Sharibu, one of the Dapchi school girls kidnapped and married off by Boko Haram terrorists.
“My name is Bali Moses, Azurfa Lois John is my biological sister. We are four siblings, I am the most senior, and she is the only girl and the last born of the family. Our father’s name is Moses, but Azurfa uses our grandfather’s name as her surname, that is why she’s Azurfa Lois John.
“We received the news of the abductors’ plan with shock. One, our parents are late. The abductors had before now reached out to us demanding ransom and because we are orphans, we could not raise the amount they demanded. They asked us to meet Malam Tukur Mamu for negotiation.

“They sent us a message via voice note through WhatsApp and we responded to their message, pleading that we are orphans and we cannot raise the huge amount they asked for. We noticed that have listened to our message, but they never responded again since then.
“Now our fear is that we don’t want our sister’s case to be like that of Leah Shaibu. We want Lois’ freedom. She is a young lady with a promising future. We want her to live her life with freedom as a law-abiding Nigerian so that she can fulfill her dreams.
We are pleading with the Federal Government to assist us to secure her release so that our sister can come back home as soon as possible.”
We Are Twice A Day – Azurfa
Fortunately, Azurfa Lois John, the 21-year-old Kaduna State University student was among the remaining 23 passengers free last week.
Narrating her ordeal to journalists from her hospital bed in Kaduna, Azurfa said the terrorist stormed the train in a commando-like style, shooting indiscriminately, ordering everyone to go out.
According to her, they walked a distance that night before motorcycles came and took them away and they journeyed for four days before arriving at the main camp that became their abode for six months.
“From the scene of the attack, I saw that the train just derailed, the terrorist entered the train, they stayed shooting sporadically and they asked us to got out. Then the men were tied up, they collected our phones”, she narrated.
“We walked a distance that night before bikes came. Then they took us to where we spent that night. We journeyed for four days before we got to where they dropped us off, which is their main camp. We were there doing nothing, every day was just like a repetition of the previous day.”

She further revealed that they were fed and treated by their captors.
“We cook in the morning and the evening, so we ate twice a day”
She said the terrorist actually bring medical doctors into the camp to treat the sick abductees.
” Anytime we are sick, they bring drugs. The terrorist has medical doctors who come around to give medical care,” she said.
Yes One of The Wanted to Marry Me
She also confirmed that one of the top commanders of the terrorists fell in love with her and wanted to marry her but she rejected the offer.
According to her, it wasn’t a matter of force, once they propose the marriage and you reject their offer, they let you be.
“Yes, it is true that one of the terrorist’s commanders picked interest in me and proposed to marry me but it was just an offer and I rejected it. Once you reject them, they don’t force people. I was not the only one the terrorist offered to marry. They would just ask you, I want to marry you, I want to keep you and I want to change your religion and convert to my religion.’ So, it is left for you to either agree or reject.”
Azurfa who is grateful to be set free said she never knew that one day she would be free again but she kept praying and then the unexpected happened for them.
“I was just praying and waiting for the day I will leave the camp,” She said, adding that news of leaving the terrorist camp came unexpected.
