A wave of outrage has swept across social media following disturbing claims about a festival in Ozoro, Delta State, where women are allegedly subjected to h@ra$$ment and $$xual a$$ault.
The matter came to public attention when a social media user, Veronica Park, who goes by @Tegsmamaa online, shared details of what she described as a troubling tradition in the community. According to her posts, the festival runs for seven days, during which women are expected to stay indoors. She alleged that any woman found outside from 12 noon onward faces h@ra$$ment and $$xual violence.
“The videos I’ve seen are horrific,” she wrote in one of her posts. She added that instead of stepping in to help, some residents appeared to cheer and record the incidents as they unfolded.

Another user, @efebradzofficial, who claimed to be a member of the community, shared videos and called for public awareness, stating that the situation was happening live and that urgent intervention was needed.
The videos now circulating online show women in different parts of the community being manhandled. One video that has drawn particular attention shows a young woman with her clothing t0rn, pleading to be released while men t0!uch her inappr0pr!ate!y.
The clips have sparked strong reactions from Nigerians across social media, with many condemning any cultural practice that puts women in harm’s way. Several commenters have called on community leaders to take responsibility, questioning why such acts are allowed to continue under the cover of tradition.

There have also been calls for law enforcement agencies to step in and investigate the claims. Many users are demanding that those seen in the videos be identified and made to face justice if the allegations are confirmed.

As of now, no official statement has been released by the Delta State Police Command or local government authorities regarding the claims.
