Police Identify Crossdresser Found Dead on Abuja Highway as Ifeanyi Benedict.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the identity of a crossdresser whose body was discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway in Abuja. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, a native of Afikpo North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State. The body, found on August 8, 2024, was initially mistaken for a woman due to the victim’s female attire, according to a report by Punch.
SP Josephine Adeh, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed Benedict’s identity in a statement, saying, “Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased to be one Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict… who resides at Dapé in the Karmo Area of Abuja.”

The deceased’s family has been informed and is cooperating with the police in their investigation. Authorities have assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation continues.

Reports suggest that Benedict, who was popularly known as Abuja Area Mama, was attacked on the night of August 7, and his body was later dumped on the road near Banex, Wuse II. It was also noted that Benedict had hosted a live session on TikTok just hours before his untimely death.
The police have begun a discreet investigation into the incident, following directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh.
