Singer Mr P “Shattered” by Death of Anthony Joshua’s Trainers in Crash.
The music and sports worlds are united in grief as more personalities react to the deadly car accident involving boxer Anthony Joshua. The latest voice is that of singer and songwriter Mr P, of the famous duo P-Square, who has shared a heartfelt and emotional message following the loss of Joshua’s two close associates.
The accident happened on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Joshua, who was returning to Nigeria for the new year holidays, survived with minor injuries. However, the two men traveling with him in the front of the vehicle, his personal trainer Latif “Latz” Arowosaye and strength coach Sina Edmund, died at the scene.
Mr P, a known friend and supporter of the heavyweight champion, took to his Instagram account to express his pain. His post captured the sudden shock and deep sorrow felt by many.
“This year was going so well… then this accident shattered me completely,” he wrote. “Latz & Sina, I can’t believe you’re gone. Why?”
He then directed a message of comfort to Joshua himself. “To my brother @Anthonyjoshua my heart breaks for you. Latz & Sina will forever live in our memories and in the love they left behind.”
Acknowledging the complexity of grief, Mr P added, “Even in the middle of this storm, we are grateful to God for sparing your life. May He comfort you, guide you, and help you carry their legacy with pride and strength. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong brother.”
His public tribute echoes the private anguish spreading through the circles of both men. Latz and Sina were not just staff but considered part of Joshua’s extended family, integral to his training team and personal life. Their deaths have sent waves of sadness through communities in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, the focus for many remains on remembering the lives lost and supporting those left behind, including a champion now coping with an immense personal loss.
