The team, which has made the nation proud with their stellar performance, has been rewarded handsomely by President Bola Tinubu—a gesture that has sparked widespread admiration and renewed discussions about rewarding excellence in Nigerian sports.

President Tinubu didn’t hold back in recognizing the Super Falcons’ historic achievement. Each player received:
- $100,000 cash reward
- A 3-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Abuja
- National honour (Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON)
The coaching staff and technical crew were also rewarded with $50,000 each, alongside other national benefits. Adding to the excitement, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq announced an additional ₦10 million for each player and staff member.

These rewards have been met with widespread approval, with many Nigerians commending the government for motivating athletes. Some have even called for similar incentives for the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s male football team, to inspire better performances in international competitions.
Fresh off their victory and presidential recognition, the Super Falcons have launched a fun and heartwarming trend—the #WAFCONCupChallenge, where players share creative and jubilant photos with the trophy.

Some players were seen lying on their beds with the cup, others kissing and hugging it, while a few even pretended to “feed” the trophy. The lighthearted challenge has gone viral, becoming the talk of the town as fans join in celebrating their heroes.

While many Nigerians are thrilled about the rewards given to the Super Falcons, some have urged the government to extend similar recognition to the nation’s fallen military heroes. Social media has been abuzz with comments suggesting that soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Nigeria deserve posthumous honours, scholarships for their children, and housing benefits for their families.
The Super Falcons’ success and the subsequent rewards have reignited hope for the growth of women’s football in Nigeria. Fans and analysts believe this could be a turning point, encouraging more investment in female athletes and inspiring the next generation of players.
