Tension in Ekiti As Soldier Stabs DSS Officer to Death on the Neck.
The Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced that they have launched an investigation into the alleged murder of the Department of State Services Operative by soldiers in a hotel in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, disclosed that the secret police operative was allegedly killed by the soldier during a heated argument.
The soldiers were said to have arrested a boy suspected to be an internet fraudster and the DSS officer stepped in to rescue the suspect from the soldiers, then an argument ensued which led to one of the soldiers killing the secret police officer.

The PPRO said, ” We heard that the Department of State Services (DSS) operative was killed during a hot argument with some soldiers yesterday (Friday). Our detectives have started an investigation and we will get to the root of the matter. ‘ ‘
The PPRO also said that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited in the morgue and the suspects have been arrested.
According to a source who disclosed that the DSS officer was stabbed to death by one of the four soldiers during the argument.

The source who pleaded anonymity said, ” The incident happened around 7. 30pm at a hotel along NTA Road in Ado Ekiti. The soldiers, who were inside the hotel, stopped the young man they suspected to be a ‘ Yahoo boy’ and while interrogating him, the young man saw the DSS operative on a bike and beckoned him for help.
” When the DSS officer got to the soldiers, a heated argument ensued between them and one of the soldiers became so angry that he brought out a knife and stabbed the DSS officer in the neck.

“The DSS man fell immediately and started bleeding. The people inside the hotel drinking fled immediately.”
