“The Genius Creators Summit 2025 truly exceeded my expectations in many ways,” Ogwuche said. “Our aim from the start was to create a bridge between creativity and technology — to bring together creators, innovators, policymakers, and investors in one space to have meaningful conversations about the future of Africa’s creative economy. I believe we achieved that.”

He revealed that the event recorded over 500 participants, a figure that surpassed projections. He added that the diversity of voices and the quality of conversations underscored Africa’s readiness to embrace innovation, collaboration, and artificial intelligence (AI) as catalysts for transformation.

“The turnout, the depth of discussions, and the diversity of perspectives were incredible,” he said. “It showed that Africa’s creative ecosystem is ready to embrace innovation, collaboration, and AI as tools for transformation.”

Ogwuche further announced plans to launch an AI Career Accelerator Program, designed to train 1,000 young creators over the next six months — an initiative aimed at equipping creatives with digital skills for the future of work.

“However, this is only the beginning,” he noted. “We still need stronger partnerships with the private sector, government, and global investors to scale the impact. Beyond policy, we must build training programs and infrastructure that help young people express their creativity in any space they find themselves. That’s how we move from passion to productivity, and from potential to impact.”

FG Reaffirms Support for Creative Industry

During the event, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Office of the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the creative sector.

Representing the Minister, Mrs. Hannatu Musa, the Special Adviser to the President on Partnership and Innovation, Mr. Imran Duba, emphasized the government’s dedication to improving access to funding, training, and infrastructure development that empowers creators to thrive.

The Director General of NITDA also reiterated the government’s resolve to support Nigeria’s creative ecosystem through progressive digital policies that foster innovation, visibility, and inclusivity.

In a similar vein, Mr. Khalil Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, underscored the importance of establishing innovation hubs across the country to empower young creators with tools, mentorship, and technological access to drive homegrown innovation.

$500,000 Fourth Mainland Creator Fund Announced

A major highlight of the summit was the announcement of the Fourth Mainland Creator Fund — a $500,000 initiative unveiled by renowned media entrepreneur and storyteller Chude Jideonwo. The fund aims to support emerging African creators by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and strategic guidance to filmmakers, writers, podcasters, and digital storytellers who demonstrate originality, social relevance, and measurable impact.

According to Jideonwo, the initiative is designed to help creators build sustainable businesses, scale their platforms, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s creative economy.

“By pairing capital with mentorship, the fund seeks to address critical gaps that often prevent talented creators from reaching their full potential,” Jideonwo explained.

The Genius Creators Summit 2025 has set a new standard for creative collaboration and innovation in Africa, leaving participants inspired and motivated to redefine the future of the continent’s creative industry.
