The Sad Story of How Singer Teni’s Father Was Assassinated In 1995.

Teni and Niniola are two Nigerian singers well-known in the music industry. Simeon Apata, their father, was assassinated in 1995, and many fans never knew the sad story of her he died.

In fact, many fans were unaware that Teni and Niniola were sisters until Teni rose to fame in Nigeria’s music industry. She has won numerous awards and created a spot for herself in the industry.

Teni’s father was a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier- General who also fought in the country’s civil war. He was known for his bravery, and he never gave the armed robbers and thieves in his neighbourhood a chance to rest. He gained a lot of enemies as a result of this, and on January 8, 1995, he was shot and killed by gunmen in Lagos. Many people were saddened by the news of his death, including his family.

Simeon Apata founded a private school in 1980 when he was still alive. Because he was a soldier, the school was a private boarding school run in a military- style.

After he died in 1995, the school’s name was changed to Apata Memorial High School in his honour. His three widows now run the school.

Teni wrote a song in honour of her father in 2018. ‘ Wait’ was the title of the song, which was inspired by the death of the singer’s father. She sang about her father’s love for her mother and how she wished he hadn’t died and abandoned them. His daughters (Niniola and Teni) have become well- known musicians in Nigeria and beyond.
