Armenia, a country located in the Caucasus mountains, is a place where faith has thrived for centuries. While some might think it’s an Arab nation, Armenia has its own unique culture and story, deeply linked to Christianity for over 1,700 years!

Even though Christianity became official in the 4th century, the seeds of faith were planted much earlier. Stories say that apostles named Bartholomew and Thaddeus brought the message of Jesus to Armenia in the 1st century AD. These early teachings paved the way for the country’s big change later on.
Most Armenians (around 9 out of 10) belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church, a special kind of church with traditions and ceremonies, different from other Christian groups.
Armenia’s Christian story doesn’t just stay within its borders. Many Armenian communities live in other parts of the Middle East and the world, keeping their culture and faith alive, even far away.
While Armenia’s Christian roots are older than Islam in the region, it’s important to remember that different cultures and religions have always been part of the Middle East. Knowing and respecting this diversity helps everyone get along better.
