Tragic Suicide: 15-Year-Old Boy Ends His Life After School Expelled Him.

A 15-year-old secondary school student, Ebube Offo, has tragically taken his own life after drinking a lethal substance identified as sniper insecticide.

Ebube, a resident of Ezeagu local government area, reportedly resorted to this extreme measure following his expulsion from Malex International School. The expulsion stemmed from alleged behavioral issues from his previous school, Evangel Secondary School, Achara Layout Enugu, affiliated with the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria.

The sequence of events happened when Evangel Secondary School expelled Ebube during the second term of the 2024 academic session. Subsequently, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cosmos Offo, enrolled him in Malex International School. However, complications arose when the principal of Evangel Secondary School allegedly negatively reported Ebube and how he is a bad influence on Malex International School’s management, leading to his second expulsion without due observation.

Tragically, Ebube’s elder brother, Mr. Onyedika Offo, a university student, confirmed the devastating news, expressing the family’s shock and grief over Ebube’s untimely demise.

According to Mr. Offo, the suspension inflicted by Malex International School caused his brother to be distressed and depressed.

Ebube’s distress became apparent to his family, particularly his mother, a local trader, who noticed his sadness and his always moodiness. Despite their concern, and continuous questions to find out what was wrong with him, Ebube refused to open up, always saying he was fine and that there was nothing wrong with him.

Sadly, he ended it by taking a snipper.

Efforts to seek clarification from the respective school management and the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer proved futile, leaving unanswered questions after this devastating loss.
