Abuja Bloggers Hangout a show which connects bloggers from all platforms went live on WeFm 106.3.
The program is designed to bring together bloggers, social media influencers, webmasters all over Nigeria and Africa to discuss common issues in the industry.
The show is hosted by Dotun Roy a development blogger and, Amb. Phil Roberts is an ace broadcaster and Development activist. Amb. Phil Roberts is also a big name in FCT as he is the spokesman for PMAN FCT Chapter (Performing musicians Association of Nigeria) and also the deputy chairman Association of Entertainment practitioners in Abuja.
While addressing newsmen after the show, Amb. Phil stressed the importance of having a community where bloggers from different niches can harmonize on common grounds in solving issues especially the high rate of fake news and trends in Nigerian media.

“Bloggers hangout which is designed to be Abuja’s biggest radio program has now metamorphosed into a major movement with the bloggers and social media community in the city of Abuja having the liberty to call into the hangout to share their thoughts on what’s trending, share ideas on their blogging experience, network with other bloggers and social media influencers.”
“The platform is designed to be an avenue where bloggers and social media influencers can communicate both online and offline in a more relaxed environment for the purpose of networking. The hangout is a physical one as it is open to all who want to be part of the FCT Blogging/social media community in Abuja”, he said.
Bloggers hangout is an informative show with a segment that educates listeners interested in venturing into the blogging business out of passion or for making a living.
Also, the show is focused on changing the way people perceive bloggers in general, many people believe bloggers are carriers of rumors which is not always the case, there are many niche bloggers who are Nation-builders through the information they pass on their platforms to readers and followers.

One interesting segment of the show is “what’s trending now”, it allows listeners to call in and interact on interesting topics trending on social media; Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.
The first bloggers hangout show on Wefm 106.3 had an interesting argument between Abel Wealth, a gossip blogger, and one of the hosts Dotun Roy a renowned development blogger. While Dotun has his reservations for gossip bloggers he acknowledges the relevance of gossip blogs in entertaining and keeping body and soul together.
“We cannot deny the roles of gossip blogs, but at the same time, we intend to bridge the gap between conventional and digital media platforms in Nigeria. The show would help correct the notions by the general public that bloggers are not just charlatans and mischief makers that they often perceive them to be. That bloggers are truly making a huge contribution in terms of timely and accurate dissemination of information in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. He said.”

The show was not complete without the views of Favour Johnson another seasoned blogger and one of the best cinematographers in Abuja and the founder of Onevoiceafrica.
“The bloggers hang out is an awesome place to be. It is what our generation needs and every blogger in Nigeria belong here. We must shape our future with the right content and we must become a positive influence to ourselves first.” He said.
