African Leading Women Conference/Awards 2019 insights.

Every year, women of substance across Africa gather to discuss issues affecting them and how they can proffer solutions for the betterment of the continent “Africa”.

This year’s conference was not an exception, as it records massive turnout of leading women in Africa including the First lady of Sokoto State, Her Excellency, Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the amiable keynote speaker of this year’s edition.

Some of the discussions of this year’s conference centered on entrepreneurship, gender equality, stigmatization as well as the girl child right to education.

African Leading Women Conference/Awards

African Leading Women Conference/Awards is hosted annually by Goodwill Events Management Agency to celebrate Africa’s Most Industrious Leading Women in Business and other leadership positions across the globe.

Kick-starting the event this year was the arrival of guest on the red carpet and a welcome address by the convener Amb. Chris Odey, as he acknowledges the importance of women as the catalyst for Nation building.

 “Women are the pioneers of development in any society and this initiative of recognizing great African Women Achievers not only in Nigeria but also across other African Countries started three years ago,”

“I remember how challenging it was for my mother to train me and my siblings through school, so I tasked all women to seek power, position and go places.”

“Women are the ones who lead men through the right part when they go astray, and today, I celebrate every woman seated here.”

The event which was hosted by Nollywood Actress Halima Abubakar alongside Nollywood Actor Bobby Blaze and Philip Rennar also record high turnout of celebrities as well stakeholders in various aspects of life.

Celebrities and Stakeholders such as: King Tonto Dikeh, Matilda Duncan, Faze, Lady G, Ijeoma Sonia Ozurumba (Scents of April), Chief Mrs Janet Amba Phf, (SA to the Executive Governor, Akwa Ibom State), Binta Pearl Ojoma (Publisher, Who is Who Magazine), Amb. Mrs Olatunde Young amongst others.

Her Excellency, the wife of the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Maryam Tambuwal while addressing the women in a keynote speech urged them never to give up.

“I am proud of every woman entrepreneur seated here; I’m an advocate of women inclusion in entrepreneurship and I want to tell you never to give up on your ambition and dreams.”

“Congratulations to those nominated for this award, those awarded and even the ones who will be awarded in the future.”

Aside from Her Excellency’s speech, renowned leadership coach Amb. Uche also mentored participants on leadership role while stressing the fact that women will bring salvation to Nigeria.
