Buhari Makes Fresh Announcement Concerning Naira Notes.
President Muhammadu Buhari has dropped fresh notification on naira notes just a few hours after Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was proclaimed the winner of the election.
There have been allegations that the policy was implemented with the intention of preventing Tinubu from achieving his goal of becoming president.
You may recall that in October 2022, Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), revealed the proposal to revamp the N200, N500, and N1,000 notes. Because of the top bank’s decision to make February 10 the last day that old naira notes could be used, the availability of the currency became extremely limited.
On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari provided an explanation for the rationale behind the redesigned naira strategy. The President has expressed regret to the people of Nigeria and stated that the policy was not implemented with the intention of making life more difficult in the country.
A video clip of President Buhari speaking was shared on Twitter by the candidate for the governorship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, Uba. In the clip, President Buhari stated that the policy was intended to boost the economy.

He said, ” I am sorry for the difficulty brought to you by the change in the value of the naira. ” That was done to stimulate the economy of the country, not to put anyone in a difficult financial position. “
Also, the president encouraged citizens of Kaduna State to choose Sabi for governor of their state by encouraging them to vote for him.
*First and foremost, I want to once again thank you for the confidence you have in me but electing me president on the platform of our party, the APC Buhari said. “I am honored to serve as your president.”
“I would like to take advantage of this occasion to let you know that U a Sani would be our candidate for y governorship race in the state of Kaduna. I beg of you to support him and the other APC candidates running for the house of assembly so that he can continue his efforts.
“Uba is one of the most important people. While we were serving in the Senate together, he showed both capability and expertise in his work. He will exceed everyone’s expectations with his performance.”
“Kaduna is where my heart is. Because of this, I strongly encourage you to cast your vote for Uba Sani and any of our other APC candidates running for the state legislature.”
