Angry Mother Arrested for Pouring Kerosene on Her 10-year-old Daughter and set Her on Fire.
Police operatives in Ogun State have now taken into custody a woman who caused grievous physical harm to her own biological daughter.
It was learned that the lady, identified as Aisha Tijani, a housewife, and mother to five kids, had set her daughter, 10 years of age, on fire after pouring fuel on her.
In circumstances leading up to the bizarre incident, a certain man, Moroof Ayinde, in a complaint filed at the police station, narrated that the he resides in the same house with the woman.

It started when the woman had seized a phone from one of her children, over an unspecified issue.
But her 10- year- old daughter (unidentified) had taken the phone and given it back to her sibling, whom the phone was seized from. But this did not go down well with her mother.
The woman flew into a rage and poured fuel on the little girl before igniting it. The matter was reported, and the police, moving swiftly, soon apprehended the woman.

Her daughter suffered severe burn injuries from the incident, which required her going to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The girl was referred later to another hospital, Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, for further attention, while her mother was questioned in custody.
Aisha admitted to her crime, but said that she has no idea what it was that came over her when doing the callous act to the poor girl.

According to DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police PRO, the police commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, directed the immediate transfer of Aisha to the state CIID (criminal investigation and intelligence department) for further investigation.
