Queen Imoleayo Launches Campaign to Kick against Rape and Sexual Abuse in Nigeria

Miss Ilese (2018) , Queen Imoleayo Damilola, is set to launch her campaign which is targeted at kicking out rape and sexual abuse among young people.

Speaking to newsmen about the event, she said:

Rape is one of the major problem in our society today, it occurs daily in our environment; due to the frequent occurrence, I have decide to put an awareness program about it. The aim of this awareness is to educate the young ones about rape, how to avoid it, legal implications and how it can be managed.

Rape is a serious issue that shouldn’t be overlooked, rape is endemic in Nigeria. Many women and children suffer from sexual abuse and rape, while the perpetrators often go free. There are situations where the perpetrator used threats, force, intimidation, illegal substances in order to have sex with the victim.

If a person have sex with a girl younger than 14, even if it is consensual, it counts as statutory rape in Nigeria.

I am therefore inviting the general public to attend this event tagged “KICK AGAINST RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE AMONG YOUNG GENERATION”.

The event is scheduled to hold on July 4th 2019, at Ilese comprehensive high school Ilese-Ijebu, Ogun –State. The awareness program is organized by QUEEN IMOLEAYO DAMILOLA (MISS ILESE 2018) and participation is free .
