#Endbadgovernace Protest: Nationwide Hunger Protests Kick Off Early in Niger State.
Youth in Niger State have taken to the streets to protest the severe economic hardship and rising inflation in Nigeria.
The protest, initially scheduled to begin nationwide on August 1, started early in Niger State. On Monday, youths marched with placards reading, “Fuel subsidy must be back,” “Enough is enough,” “Stop anti-masses policies,” “We are not slaves in our country,” and “Hardship is unbearable.”

The protesters are currently marching along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway in Suleja LGA of Niger State, chanting anti-government slogans.

Despite repeated appeals from state governors and President Bola Tinubu for the youth to cancel the August 1-10 demonstrations, the protests have continued. Law enforcement agencies have warned that these protests could be hijacked by hoodlums and “unscrupulous agents.”
