Event Highlights at the Just Concluded DHDC Volunteers Inductions Ceremony 2020.
A renowned NGO DEBRICHE HEALTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (DHDC) based in Nigeria has concluded it’s 2020 induction ceremony for new volunteers across Nigeria.
The ceremony which was held virtually via ZOOM had in attendance, officials of the NGO as well as inductees (Volunteers) from various parts of Nigeria.

Over the years, DHDC has organized various health-related outreaches and seminars with a particular bias on Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
During the induction, DHDC provided inductees with in-depth information on its vision and mission and also it’s ongoing Challenge Facility for Civil society project of the Stop TB Partnership Geneva. “TB stigma assessment in Lagos slums” which is currently being implemented in partnership with the Roland Igbinoba Foundation for Housing and Urban Development (RIRFHUD). The intervention package of this project is to create awareness on the impact of TB stigma on TB response and support the effort of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme in achieving human rights and gender-related commitments of the United Nations High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB Targets.

Volunteers were also informed of the role that they could play within the project in terms of dissemination of the findings from the research and awareness creation on prevention diagnosis and treatment of Tuberculosis.
Furthermore, volunteers capacity was built around effective health advocacy and awareness creation in line with DHDC’s strategic plan as a contribution to existing efforts in changing poor health outcomes through leveraging on the power of social media especially during this period that the world faced with the public health emergency (COVID-19 pandemic).
While sharing the news on its official social media handles, DHDC reiterated its commitment toward changing the poor health system in Nigeria.
“As part of the 2020 end of year activities of DEBRICHE HEALTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, DHDC held its virtual 2020 volunteer induction.
During the meeting, volunteers pledged their commitments towards DHDC’s vision which marks a revamped energy and motivation towards changing poor health outcomes in Nigeria and across Africa. This initiative is one of DHDC’s approaches towards building the capacity of young Nigerians by providing them with strategic information for health advocacy.
