I Reported The Threat On Deborah’s Life To The Police But They Said I Have No Right To Do So- Father.
Garba Emmanuel, the father of Late Deborah has made fresh revelations about how his daughter was brutally murdered. Recall that the 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto was lynched for making blasphemous comments against Prophet Muhammad.
Speaking during an interview, Garba said his daughter wasn’t a troublemaker and was a devoted Christian. He went further to narrate how his daughter called him on Thursday around 9 am informing him of how some students were threatening her life.
On receiving the call, he left what he was doing and went to the school, where he saw a mammoth crowd ready to take laws into their hands.
Deborah’s father revealed that he reported to the police about the situation on the ground but they told him that he has no right to report claiming that the school should call them. After mounting pressure on the police they gave him two policemen on mufti, who followed him to the scene. He added that when the policemen arrived at the school and saw that they couldn’t control the situation, they called the DPO, Area Commander, and the DSS, who sent in more men.

When the person with the key arrived and the door unlocked, the mobs had gathered again. Deborah’s father said that in the presence of about 100 security operatives, one of the mob hit her on the head with an iron before she was stoned and set ablaze.
