Mercy Chinwo Son Controversy: Man Stands Firm, Refuses to Apologize for Paternity Comments On Social Media.
Butcherbeatz, a young man embroiled in controversy over comments regarding the paternity of Mercy Chinwo’s infant son, remains steadfast in his refusal to apologize to the Nigerian gospel singer and her husband, Pastor Blessed.
In a recent video, Butcherbeatz, an aspiring musician, defended his actions, arguing that he did nothing wrong by drawing a comparison between the young child and gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey.
Recall when Mercy and her husband unveiled their son’s face around Easter, prompting speculation from some netizens about the child’s paternity.
Butcherbeatz asserted his right to express an opinion, emphasizing that over 200 million Nigerians would understand his perspective. He adamantly stated that no amount of wealth could sway or intimidate him.
“This is my opinion, and it’s not a lie nor a crime. I don’t advocate for people demanding DNA tests. But regarding this child, he resembles Nathaniel Bassey. More than 200 million Nigerians can see it. I didn’t release the picture; it’s the child’s parent who did… I won’t apologize for that.”
Reactions to Butcherbeatz’s stance varied:
evergreenebony: “‘Looks like’ is acceptable; I believe the baby resembles Nathaniel Bassey too. However, insinuating infidelity or pushing for a DNA test is unacceptable.”
habout__: “He merely expressed his opinion on the child’s appearance. I don’t see anything wrong with that. After all, many people claim to resemble celebrities.”
contento_boss_king: “I admire how he stands his ground despite opposition… Keep going, sir.”
fob_josh: “There’s no harm in saying someone looks like another person; it’s never been a crime unless there’s more to it than what’s being discussed.”
