A video of a Nigerian man who was arrested at the Istanbul Airport after he ingested 844 grams of a narcotic substance has gone viral.

The Nigerian man with the initials B.E.O was picked out by the airport body scanners.

The drugs he ingested were in 96 capsules and the suspect, who came to Istanbul with the Ethiopia-Istanbul flight, was detained upon arrival at the airport.

A suspected drug trafficker, Chibogu Ernest Obiora, intercepted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, has excreted 97 wraps of cocaine worth N360m. 

Director, Media & Advocacy of the agency, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement ion Friday, April 30, said Obiora, 47, was arrested during inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline. 

“Obiora was subsequently put under observation during which he excreted 97 wraps of substances that tested positive to cocaine with a total weight of 1.55kilogramme and a street value of N360million,” the statement reads. 

“He was arrested at about 1:16pm on Sunday 25th April, 2021 during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline. He had arrived Lagos on board the airline from Entebbe, Uganda via Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia,”

A suspected drug trafficker has excreted a total of 113 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.750 kilogrammes with a street value of N423 million after he was intercepted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos.

The Madrid, Spain bound drug trafficker, Okonkwo Chimezie Henry, was arrested on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, at about 8 pm, while boarding a Turkish Airline flight number TK0626.

The spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, April 9, said the suspect was apprehended at screening 2 point and taken into custody by the NDLEA operatives at the Lagos airport. He was subsequently put under observation at the JBTF/NDLEA facility for further investigation.

“Twenty-four hours after putting him under excretion observation, the suspect who has been living in Spain for 10 years excreted 39 wraps of cocaine and subsequently passed out a total of 113 wraps in five excretions. Further investigation reveals he ingested the illicit drug in a hotel in Igando area of Lagos.” the statement reads.
