Policemen Beat Nursing Mother To Stupour, Drag Her On The Floor For Asking To See DPO.
Police officers working at Nyanya Police Station, Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, reportedly beat a nursing mother to stupour, dragged her on the floor because she asked to see the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Nyanya Police Station.
Mrs. Helen Abubakar was dragged on the floor by the officers on Friday after she asked to see the DPO over the arrest of her brother-in-law.
The 26- year- old mother visited the police station that very day to see her brother-in-law who was apprehended and locked up by the police after he was caught with fake N1,000 notes that were given to him by his customer at the lounge where he was working.
According to reports, Torixus reported that Helen wanted to speak with the DPO over the man’s detention since the police had arrested the main person that gave the fake N1000 notes to her brother-in-law.

Mrs. Helen told FIJ that she was ignored by police officers on duty when she asked how to bail him. And that the people that gave him the fake notes were released while the innocent person was still locked up.
She said that the policemen became angry after she introduced the court to their discussion.
“They said they wouldn’t even allow his bail anymore and asked if I knew the road to court. ” She said.
While narrating what happened, she said a police officer approached her and started pushing her after she threatened to call a friend who is a lawyer.
” The DCO1 came and asked me to narrate what happened. ” She said.
The nursing mother aired that she was verbally assaulted while she was narrating what happened to the gentle-looking DCO1.

” When I told them that I wanted to see the DPO. The DCO1 whom I had thought was a responsible man pushed and hit me. ” Helen added.
Helen said she landed at the Nyanya General Hospital after she was mercilessly beaten by some policemen, the DCO1 and a policewoman.
Torixus learned that the police officers that carried out the assault haven’t apologized to the woman. They accused her of slapping a Senior police officer at the station.
