Puma offered Wizkid a multi-million deal, but Davido ended up signing it – Davido vs Wizkid Feud.
In recent weeks, two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, Davido and Wizkid, have been involved in a public disagreement, with both taking jabs at each other on social media. Things got worse when Wizkid insulted Davido with harsh words. To shed light on the situation, Nigerian-American businessman Nelson Epega has shared his side of the story and what he thinks about the whole issue.
Nelson Epega, a successful entrepreneur and CEO of Chatter and Bando Investment Group, found himself caught up in the feud. Though Epega is mostly known for his business ventures and is reportedly worth over $5 million, his comments about Wizkid and Davido have made him a part of the ongoing drama.
The Puma Deal
One of the main causes of the tension between the two stars is a deal with the sports brand Puma. Reports suggest that Puma initially offered the deal to Wizkid, but it ended up going to Davido. This business move seems to have stirred up more conflict between the two artists.

Nelson Epega commented on the situation, claiming that Puma chose Davido over Wizkid because Davido was more popular at the time. Wizkid, however, played down the issue, responding, “Money means nothing to me. I’m a man who values family and love!”
Heated Exchange
Epega didn’t stop there. He went on to say that Wizkid hasn’t had a major hit in years and has been overtaken by younger Nigerian artists like Ayra Starr, Tems, and Rema. He said, “You haven’t had a hit in 4 years, yet you’re busy tweeting about Davido, who’s in the U.S. launching his Puma collection!”
Wizkid quickly fired back, explaining that he didn’t lose the Puma deal because of money. According to him, he turned down the deal because the amount Puma offered wasn’t enough for him. He said, “I turned down Puma because they couldn’t pay me what I wanted! I’m much bigger than the artists you mentioned. I love them, though, no hate.”
The Disagreement Continues
The argument didn’t end there. Epega responded by saying that Puma’s decision wasn’t about money, but about Davido being more relevant. He added, “Puma is worth $6.1 billion. It’s not that they couldn’t afford you; they offered less because Davido is more relevant!”

Wizkid explained that Puma’s budget for Africa didn’t match his expectations. He said, “Puma is a big brand, but their budget wasn’t for me. It worked for your client though.”
Are They Still Friends?
Davido and Wizkid have both been huge blessings to African music and have taken it to the world stage. However, their friendship has faced several challenges over the years. With this latest fight, it’s hard to tell if they’ll be able to patch things up.
While fans are hopeful that they will settle their differences, the future of their relationship is uncertain.
