A Senator, representing Lagos East, Adebayo Sikiru Osinowo, popularly called Pepperito, has died.
Unconfirmed sources alleged that Osinowo died of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) at a Lagos hospital.
He was said to have been at the special intensive care unit of a Lagos hospital where he was allegedly being treated for deadly Coronavirus.

With his death, the Ninth Senate has lost four senators in the last six months.
It would be recalled that Senators Benjamin Umajunogu; Ignatius Longjan; and Rose Oko, had died between December, 2019 and June, 2020.
Born on November 28, 1955, Osinowo was a businessman and politician. He was also a member of Lagos State House of Assembly. Before his demise.
To commemorate the first June 12 National Democracy Day, the late senator wrote:
“Today is Democracy Day and it is important to acknowledge the support and prayers of Nigerians, which has been instrumental in the progress we have achieved so far.
“Though there have been challenges, but your support and prayers have been pillars on which we were able to face and surmount such challenges.
“June 12 is the catalyst for the present democratic dispensation in Nigeria as it is a product of our struggle for democratic expression.

“I want to assure you that government will not relent in putting in place policies and programmes that will enhance the welfare and well-being of the everyday Nigerian.
“On behalf of the people of the Lagos East Senatorial District, I greet you all on this Democracy Day celebration, and while having a fruitful and wonderful celebration, continue to keep safe, stay safe, wash your hands regularly, wear your mask and adhere strictly to the health measures put in place by the health officials. Together we will drive COVID-19 away from our country.”
