Following the kidnapping of 287 students and teachers from Government Secondary School and LEA Primary School in Kuriga 1, both in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area, the state government has promptly hired a private negotiator.
A reliable source within the state administration, speaking anonymously, revealed that the decision to engage a private negotiator was made in acknowledgment of the complexity and sensitivity of the situation.
The negotiator, whose identity remains undisclosed for security purposes, is reputed to possess extensive experience in negotiating with criminal elements and has a proven track record of securing the release of abducted people in similar circumstances.
The abduction sent shockwaves across the nation, prompting a swift response from the Kaduna State government. Governor Uba Sani personally visited the affected school to reassure the community of the government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens.
In a statement addressing concerned community members, Governor Sani expressed confidence in the state’s ability to secure the safe return of the abducted individuals, emphasizing the government’s resolve to spare no effort in achieving this objective.
The abduction has ignited widespread concern and condemnation, both nationally and internationally, with calls for urgent and decisive action to address the escalating insecurity in the region.
