It’s a well-known fact that a male child is highly regarded than a female child in India. Because of this, most Indian families, especially the fathers tend to prefer more sons than daughters, a situation that has caused an obsession with male children. Sadly, some fathers take their obsession too far and would do anything to get rid of the female children in preference for a son. In a horrifying that shook the world in 2015, an Indian man was arrested for trying to bury his 10-year-old daughter alive because she was a girl.

According to the police, the shocking incident in Tripura, India was brought to light when Abdul Hussein dug a pit in his back garden while his wife was out, and then put his daughter in the hole with her hands roped together and her mouth taped up. Her father is then said to have filled up the pit to chest level, with pictures showing the young girl with her arms and head above the dirt floor with the aim of burying her alive.

When Abdul’s wife returned home, he put a bamboo basket over their daughter’s head, with the intention of burying her completely later on. NDTV reported. However, his wife begajb to question where the little girl was, and the girl was soon discovered by neighbours. Hussein was then said to have been be@ten up by neighbours before calling the police. Abdul was then arrested and a faced a charge of attempted murder.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. In a similar incident that occurred four months earlier, a seven-year-old girl clawed her way to safety after she was allegedly buried al!ve in Uttar Pradesh region of India. The young girl was found by shocked villagers after they heard her cries for help. The little girl named Tanu told the police hit aunt and uncle had taken her from her mother’s house days earlier and buried her in the field.
