VIDEO: NTA Staff Crushed To De@th By Moving Train in Abuja.

The people of Chikakore a community in Kubwa satellite town of Abuja were thrown into mourning last Thursday after a moving train crushed to de@th a resident of the area.

According to reports reaching out camp, the Chairman of the community Ismail Olakposoyosi who narrated the tragic incident to our correspondent said the victim was driving out of the community when her car was crushed by the moving train.

He explained that while she was about to leave the Community she drove to the train track and didn’t notice the train approaching on time.

The train rammed into her car which led to her death. She was driving a Toyota Camry car. More reports reveal that most time the train doesn’t give adequate notice and will not even horn, and sometime when it horns, it will be closer to the community before the resident will notice. The victim was caught unaware as the train at full speed rammed her car and dragged the vehicle with her inside for some kilometers before stopping.

It took the combined efforts of NEMA, FERMA, and some other government authorities to lift the train and remove the vehicle and her corpse.

The woman was later identified as Hajiya Selimotu Idowu, a staff of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Channel 5. She was the principal accountant, a level 12 staff.

Expressing his shock the Manager, NTA Channel Five Abuja, Paul Atti said she was a very gentle person.

 “Initially when we got the news, we just thought that it was a random person. Then we asked a reporter to go there; even the reporter didn’t know she was our staff member because they couldn’t provide her picture at that moment. It was later that we got a call from the family; that was how we knew. He said

She has since been buried according to Muslim rites.
