We’ll Take Legal Action If You Don’t Stop Using Our Father’s Name In Your Campaign, Femi Kuti Warns Tinubu.

Femi Kuti, the son of late Afro music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti and multiple Grammy Award nominees, has threatened legal action against the All Progressive Congress (APC) leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for what he described as infringement and disregard of his family’s legal rights.

He accused Nigeria’s ruling political party (APC) leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of using his father’s trademarked name without his permission in a series of tweets on his Twitter handler. Femi Kuti Warns Tinubu.

He claimed that he saw a post on the APC’s official social media platform with a tag of his family name on a T-shirt that they intend to wear for the next presidential campaign, which he claims was never authorized by any of his family members. He described the use of his family’s trademarked name without permission as a violation of his family’s legal rights.

He also advised the APC to stop using the family’s trademarked name and to delete the tweet as soon as possible, or face legal action from family members. Judging from the words of the son of the late legendary Afro musician Fela Kuti, he is clearly claiming his father’s name in the consideration that it is their responsibility to protect and keep their father’s name away from the political affairs of the country and especially when being used by the 2023 APC presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu in campaigns.

Since they have promised to take legal action if Tinubu continues to use their father’s name in campaigns, it is, therefore, advisable for the presidential aspirant to deceit from the habit of using their father’s name as they claim, in campaigns and politics related issues. If otherwise is done, then we believe the APC chairman Tinubu is ready to face the consequences as claimed by Demi Kuti.
