Nigerian Army Finally Issues Strong Warning To Sheikh Gumi, Read What They Told Him.

Sheikh Gumi is one of the most controversial figures in Nigeria right now, especially since he has been clamoring for Amnesty to be granted to bandits. He went a step further by accusing the army of deploying non-Muslim soldiers against the bandits.

The Nigerian Army have finally warned popular Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmed Gumi following his bizarre comments concerning the military.

In a statement released today in Abuja, the Director of the Army Public Relations Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima Issued strong warnings to the Cleric.

The controversial Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Gumi

The popular Islamic cleric had made the comments some days back. The Sheikh declared that the soldiers who regularly attacked bandits were actually non- muslim soldiers.

According to the general, it is disturbing that a religious leader would make such divisive comments. He expressed his disappointment at Gumi for portraying the Nigerian army in Bad light.

He said that such comments were dangerous and also they could cause bad blood among Nigerians.

The General further clarified that the Nigerian army does not make a deployment based on ethnic or religious grounds, instead the Nigerian army strictly follows the rules of engagement. He said that the Nigerian army is the pride of the Nation.

This is coming at the right time as the unguarded comments from the Islamic scholar has already started causing problems among Nigerians full- stop many Nigerians have found his comments offensive, divisive and hard to believe or understand.
