Earlier in March, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, Sir Nick Clegg, visited Nigeria and met with President Bola Tinubu. Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale noted that Meta would introduce a feature on Instagram in June 2024, allowing Nigerian creators to monetize their content.
Previously, content creators with Nigerian addresses were not eligible for Facebook monetization unless they had a page management based in an eligible country. With this new development, Nigerian content creators can now monetize their content and earn money through Facebook in-stream ads, live ads, ads on reels, bonuses, and subscriptions.
