A very popular supermarket “Next Cash and Carry” is on Fire.
According to reports reaching our news desk, the supermarket went on flams early this afternoon after an alleged electric mal-function.
Next Cash and Carry is one of the biggest supermarkets in Abuja, with all manner of stocks of goods from electronics to household equipment, food stuffs, and consumables.
Apart from the stock of goods, the supermarket is also the source of livelihood to many Nigerians both those that work inside and hustlers outside.
It is really sad this is happening during this yuletide period when Nigerians are celebrating Christmas not to talk of the high inflow of shoppers recorded this period.
More reports from our correspondent who was at the scene revealed that no loss of lives have been recorded so far, but properties worth millions of naira were lost to the inferno.
As can be seen in the video making rounds, the entire building was engulfed by the fire.
This is not the first time there have been reports of fire incidents in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria. Just recentlys a popular market in Kubwa a satilite city in Abuja was also gutted by fire.
Stay glued o this blog while we bring you more updates as event unfolds.
