A shadow of grief has fallen upon Ondo State as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu passed away today, December 27, in Lagos. He was 67 years old.

A renowned lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Akeredolu was elected Governor of Ondo State in 2016, winning re-election in 2020. His administration focused on infrastructural development, security, and economic growth.

Akeredolu was not only a political leader but also a cherished family man. He leaves behind his wife, Betty, beloved children, and grandchildren.

The news of Governor Akeredolu’s passing has sent shockwaves through Ondo State and the nation. Tributes have poured in from political leaders, colleagues, and ordinary citizens, all acknowledging his contributions and expressing profound condolences to his family and the people of Ondo.

May his soul rest in peace.
