In 2006, he founded the Eto’ o Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping poor and underprivileged people, especially Africans, to protect children and youth, provide emergency assistance and promote education, and basic health among other things.

In 2015, he bought an Italian mansion worth €18. 5 million, the Altachiara mansion is a historic property in Portofino near Genoa in northern Italy and has 40 rooms and 30, 000 square meters of land.
